Job Skills / Requirements

The Product Specialist will work to support the organization and under the direction of the Production Line Manager and must be capable of performing in a responsible manner the techniques and tasks that are assigned.
Job Requirements:
Two to four years of technical or technical sales experience (which may include co-ops or internships) with similar responsibilities or an Assoc. in an Engineering or Technical Field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, etc.) is required. 
Good communication and coaching skills are necessary.
Strong technical skills and the ability to read engineering drawings and schematics are necessary.
The incumbent must be goal oriented with a high degree of enthusiasm.
The ideal candidate will be team oriented, self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks or projects independently, and forward thinking.
The Product Specialist must be familiar with various systems as well as internet based administrator programs.
In addition, the Engineer must be familiar with equipment for standard business operations such as MS Word, Outlook, Excel programs and personal computer operation.   
Design software (such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks) is a plus.
Screening Requirements: Criminal Background Check, Basic Skills, Education and Drug Testing


 

Education Requirements

The Product Specialist is responsible for existing products within assigned production areas and ensures optimal output regarding quality, cost, and performance by close communication with CRC, the Applications Engineering Team, the local Logistics Team, and the local production team.  The Product Specialist works on general product maintenance tasks along with growth and organized process improvements with assigned production areas.  This must be accomplished within the framework of the organization’s overall corporate policies, plans, and programs.  

Supervisory Responsibilities:  No
Reports to: Production Line Manager

Major Responsibilities:
Advanced Product Quality Planning - Assure efficient and robust manufacturing processes are implemented in each production cellProcess Flows / PFMEA / Work Instructions
Assist Quality Engineer with maintaining area Control Plans
Project Work - Develop and implement action plans to prevent identified process concerns from affecting product quality, delivery, and cost
Growth – Work on the addition or modification of larger scale equipment or process projects
Kaizen – Participate in KPI driven Kaizen projects or events
Corrective Actions – Develop and/or execute corrective action improvements
Product Maintenance – Work closely with the Global Product Engineer to maintain the design intent of the assigned production areas
Create and update BOMs
Process and coordinate implementation of ECOs
Assist with development and approval of new raw material suppliers
Work with Application Engineering on the development and implementation of new product features
Work with the Applications Engineer to resolve design related quality issues
Work with Applications Engineer and local production team to identify and implement cost saving initiatives
Daily Activities - Engage with personnel within the manufacturing cells to instill an understanding of the use of engineering principles to resolve issues
Complete assigned C4 improvement activities
Attend Info Center meetings and complete assigned Info Center Task List item
Provide support to the local engineering and production team in regards to design and production intent of the assigned production areas
All other duties as assigned by management
